Successful FAT

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Completed Successfully

AUGENTIC has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for Cameroon’s new generation of biometric passports. This important milestone was reached in January 2021 and took place at Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (INCM) in Lisbon. In attendance was a delegation from Cameroon’s Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale (DGSN), along with AUGENTIC’s project management and technical team. Despite COVID-19 pandemic constraints, the test was still able to be completed and all parties were able to witness the significant event in person.

Important Project Milestone Achieved

The successful FAT is an important achievement and brings AUGENTIC closer to the go-live date of their 10-year contract with the government of Cameroon. The project timeline is on track and moving forward, with the majority of the project expected to take place locally in Cameroon.

Important Step Forward for Cameroon

The ePassport is expected to help propel Cameroon forward as a leader in passport and digital identity in Africa. AUGENTIC will enable the government of Cameroon to possess state-of-the-art infrastructure allowing ePassports to be available for distribution in just 48 hours after citizen enrollment.

AUGENTIC’s CEO Mr. Labinot Carreti noted he was “pleased by the great progress in implementation of (the) biggest project: new generation of biometric passports in Cameroon. Works on Yaoundé state-of-the-art Enrollment and Production facility are advancing 24/7. Douala and Garoua are next. The dream of a passport in 48h soon a reality for all Cameroon citizens.”
